Integrative Relational Body-Centred Approach

I recognise that many psychological problems have immediate side-effects in the body: anxiety and panic attacks, sexual or eating problems, addictions, overwhelming feelings or depression and it is worth mentioning that non-verbal communication constitutes 93% of human interaction. Thus learning to listen to our bodies as well as other parts of ourselves can give us a greater sense of what is going on and how to start addressing it.

My approach is from a relational perspective, and I believe that the therapeutic encounter impacts on, and potentially changes, both participants. If this meeting is to be real, the therapist must bring their vulnerability and humility to the meeting as well as their experience and strength (Please see FAQs for a brief explanation of Integrative Relational Body Psychotherapist).

I use body work and/or breathing exercises to facilitate our work together. This can be a very powerful tool and enables me to address whatever you may be struggling with on all levels of your being; body, emotion, mind and spirit.

Some of the benefits of talking to me include-

Relieving symptoms of trauma and panic/anxiety attacks
Finding release from emotional and painful symptoms
Having more control and choice in your life
Learning to work more effectively with self-destructive patterns of behaviour
Improving or deepening relationships
Changing old ways of coping that haven’t worked
Gaining deeper understanding of behaviours and feelings
Feeling more pleasure and vitality
Achieving a deeper sense of connection with your body
